Hong Ngit Ming
Executive Chairman

Datuk Hong Ngit Ming graduated from the renowned University of Imperial College London, with double qualifications: BSc (Hon) and ACGI. He also earned a master’s degree in economics from the University of Malaysia Sabah and is also a Chartered Engineer in the United Kingdom. He joined the highly diversified Teck Guan in 1976 and is currently the Executive Chairman of Teck Guan.

Datuk Hong Ngit Ming took over the family business from his late father, Datuk Seri Panglima Hong Teck Guan, a well-known, respected, and honorable businessman in 1997. He did not regard his success as his birthright. Inheriting the same values of honesty, hard work, and integrity from his late father, he has since proven his mettle in the rough business environment and taken Teck Guan to greater heights. He lives modestly with his family and works tirelessly to promote and enhance Teck Guan’s growth into an astonishing multi-national company, barely recognized from its early years.

Because of his technical background, he leads a team of technocrats in his company. His vision was long set by him to move Teck Guan to a higher technological sphere by utilizing the company’s own raw materials. His dream was finally realized and a fatty alcohol plant was built up with tremendous efforts in a place where the market is. It is because of his strong technical background and huge drive, this fatty alcohol plant turned into a huge success, and incidentally, it has become the world’s biggest single unit fatty alcohol plant utilizing the world’s most advanced wax-ester route. His vision has created a hugely promising market for the Malaysian palm oil industry but also elevated and moved Malaysia to a new milestone.

Ng Leong Yen
Executive Director

Ng Leong Yen is a graduate of the renowned Imperial College of Science, Technology, and Medicine, University of London from which he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, an Associate of City & Guilds Institute (ACGI), and a Diploma of Imperial College and Master of Science in Computer Science. He is an associate member of the Institute of Electrical Engineering, United Kingdom.

Since 1980, he has been the Director of the Information Systems Department of Teck Guan Group. In that capacity, he is responsible for the design, implementation, and application of information technology in the Teck Guan Group. He is also involved in special projects requiring engineering and technical knowledge; he also has a keen interest in oleo-chemicals activities. On 15 Oct 2003, he was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Teck Guan Perdana Bhd. He also sits on the Board of several other private limited companies within the Teck Guan Group.

Hong Kim Fah
Deputy Executive Chairman

Datuk Hong Kim Fah, holds a Business Administration Degree obtained in 1974 from National Cheng Chi University, Taiwan. She was initially attached to the Personnel Department of Teck Guan Group in August 1974; subsequently, she worked in the Purchasing Department and Properties Department before joining Teck Guan Trading Sdn Bhd as Tawau Branch Manager. She has vast experience in management and business and has successfully, time and again, turned loss businesses into profitable concerns which maintain their profitability even during recession times.

Due to her wide business contacts, training, and business acumen, she is adept at identifying businesses and markets. In the course of her office, she has been involved in the management of cocoa and oil palm plantations, trading merchandise, palm oil mills, and other industries. She currently sits on the Board of Teck Guan Perdana Bhd, and also the Board of several other private limited companies within Teck Guan Group. She is the Group Managing Director of Teck Guan Group.
